This Pokémon-themed Galaxy Z Flip 3 is exactly the kind of thing Samsung should lead with every phone release.Image: Samsung
Move over, Tom Brown, and your sultry leather trim! Samsung has better cooperation.this Pokémon The Galaxy Z Flip 3 is the official version, and it comes with a lot of accessories to turn the foldable phone into a true illustration of the real world.
Where was this collaboration when the Z Flip 3 was launched last summer?it’s so cute and fits perfectly Pokémon Go Because it somehow continues to be relevant 6 years after its launch. The Galaxy Z Flip 3 in the bundle comes in a special box with a bunch of Pokémon– Themed accessories. If the default Pikachu isn’t your starter, there’s a frame with swappable cards. (Since we’re sharing, I’m more of a Squirtle Sun with Bulbasaur Rising.) There’s also a clear cover, a pouch that looks like a Pokédex with lanyard straps, a Pikachu tail keychain, and a PokéBall holder . As for the Z Flip 3 itself, it comes preloaded with Pokémon ringtones, themes and wallpapers. (I’m curious if interface elements will be added to the Galaxy Apps store individually, because if so, I so on top. )
The Galaxy Z Flip 3 is a pleasingly small folding phone. It has premium specs and a capable camera system, and it flips over into a small, portable piece. But perhaps the best part about the Z Flip 3 is that, because of its foldable form factor, it better replicates the device from the beloved Nerd series. Too bad Samsung didn’t think to make a case (for the phone itself) that would make the Z Flip 3 look like a real Pokédex. Pair it with an app like DataDex and it’s like the real thing.
I’m personally excited about this collaboration and what this means for the fourth-generation Z Flip and the brand going forward. Pokémon It’s been a favorite of mine for so long that I have a themed Pop Socket to outfit every smartphone vetted on my doorstep. Samsung has a history of launching phones with brand partners like Thom Browne, though they tend to be associated with a more business-oriented crowd. Instead, the Z Flip 3 has been marketed to a younger user base from the start, so it makes sense that Samsung is fully committed to it here.
As an Android user and not an iPhone user, the case selection is also frustrating. The other day, I was lamenting that Casetify’s latest Pokémon drop didn’t help us Google Pixel and Samsung Galaxy users. (Though they’ve recently added various cases for the Z Flip 3 and Samsung’s other phones.)
The Pokémon collaboration appears to be limited to South Korea, with Samsung keeping mum on pricing. But if you’re curious and have a compatible phone number, you can sign up for a text message when the special edition Z Flip 3 goes live on April 25.If you like star wars, The SimpsonsLike Marvel, Samsung also offers other themed Z Flip 3 accessories on its US online store.
