There’s been some incredibly exciting news this week that Nintendo may be adding Game Boy games to the Switch Online library after emulators for these classic handheld systems were leaked, and it looks like there’s more to come Surprises are on the way…
Nintendo may also add support for the Nintendo 64 Transfer Pak in the future, which will increase connectivity between the N64 and Game Boy services. According to new information from reliable leaker and Nintendo World Report contributor Emily Rogers, Nintendo has tested connectivity (via Famiboards) between N64 and Game Boy games.
“Nintendo tested Game Boy connectivity for several N64 games… Back in September 2021, I talked about Pokémon Stadium as one of those potential games.”
The same source mentioned this last September – on Twitter about how Pokémon Stadium Probably one of Switch Online’s versions of the N64 service.
“The N64 on the NSO will have a stronger library than the N64 on the virtual console. I’ve even heard tidbits about Pokémon Stadium – a game that was never released on the virtual console. I’m not sure about that though. Is it still there. There could be a challenge.”

Dataminer and Nintendo Life users Luigi’s blood It was also confirmed that Switch Online’s N64 app contains a reference to Transfer Pak support in the code, “but only for activating (on/off) the device and has no effect on the game itself” (via VGC).
The leaked Nintendo GBA emulator is codenamed “Sloop” and the Game Boy emulator is called “Hiyoko”. The alleged game being tested for GBA has also been leaked. Link cable emulation is also considered tested…
