According to animators at PlayStation Studios’ visual arts group, New PS5 Games for 2022 Will include some “bangers” in addition to Ragnarok. In a number of tweets posted last month following the launch of Horizon Forbidden West, Robert Morrison mentioned unannounced projects, one of which may have been in the works for 3 to 5 years.
New PS5 games planned for 2022 could include The Last of Us remakes
The developers of PlayStation Studios say that Sony will launch some new products this year.
“I’m not making Ragnarok, I’m making something equally cool.”

As spotted and compiled by Twitter user Okami13_ (via MP1st), Morrison’s tweet suggests he’s not referring to Ragnarok, which is currently scheduled for release in 2022. The developer previously worked on 2018’s God of War and then continued on to work on Specific Affinity. Nearly four years, followed by a return to PlayStation Studios in July 2021. Given this, a project he claims to have been working on for “3-5” years may not actually be a Sony game. However, his tweet about “Bang Bang” left everyone scratching their heads. A plausible theory is that Morrison was referring to the PS5 remake of The Last of Us. Many high-profile insiders have heard about the existence of the remake, which is rumored to be in development at Sony Visual Arts.
Opinion: ‘The Last of Us’ remake won’t be the ending we all hoped for
Zalmena wrote… It looks a lot like Morrison is talking about The Last of Us remake, and while it’s still one of the best games Sony has ever made, its PS5 remake isn’t exactly a ‘boom’, I sincerely hope that Not what Morrison was referring to. At this point, it feels like the Naughty Dog Zombie has been squeezed to death and should stay where it belongs: in the previous generation. I can’t imagine why Sony would again spend resources remaking a 2013 game when it could put those resources into a new experience. Perhaps, the company wanted to hype the HBO series…
