Bang & Olufsen strengthens its line of true wireless headphones with the introduction of the Beoplay EX ANC. The new in-ears feature a new stem design that contrasts with the compact design of the Beoplay EQ introduced last year.

- Bang & Olufsen’s new headphones cost €399 for a pair of Beoplay EX.
While it’s been rumored that Apple might ditch its signature stem design entirely on its AirPods Pro 2, Bang & Olufsen has surprisingly adopted the design on its new true wireless earphones, the Beoplay EX.
Beoplay EX: Design, features and price
In addition to the new design, Bang & Olufsen also claims the Beoplay EX is comfortable to wear, thanks to its smaller in-ear fit. The earbuds are IP57 certified for water and dust resistance, and each earbud weighs 6 grams. Additionally, the in-ear headphones feature a gorgeous finish with reflective glass panels surrounded by an aluminum ring, according to industrial artist Thomas Bentzen.

On a technical level, Beoplay EX has the largest audio driver of its kind from the brand. Each sound driver is 9.2mm in diameter, compared to 6.8mm on last year’s Beoplay EQ.
Bang & Olufsen claims 6 hours of battery life with Adaptive ANC enabled, but that can be extended to 20 hours with the charging case. The latter is also compatible with wireless charging via the Qi standard.

In addition to Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity, Beoplay EX supports Qualcomm’s SBC, AAC and aptX codecs, and integrates 3 MEMS microphones on each earpiece, ensuring high-quality voice output during calls. Noise reduction levels and equalizers can be adjusted via the Bang & Olufsen app on Android and iOS.
The Beoplay EX sells for a hefty €399, the same price as the Beoplay EQ, and more expensive than most wireless ANC headphones like the Sony WF-1000XM4 or Sennheiser Momentum 2. Available colors are black, gold and a combination of two shades of blue and black.
