The second annual Meta Quest Game Showcase has arrived, and it shares some of the biggest and most exciting experiences heading to the Meta Quest platform next year.
From Resident Evil 4 – The Mercenaries to NFL PRO ERA to Among Us VR to Ghostbusters VR, there’s something for everyone in the demo. To make sure you don’t miss a thing, we’ve rounded up all the announcements from the Meta Quest Gaming Showcase below.
Ghostbusters VR announced
Sony Pictures Virtual Reality and nGames have announced a new Ghostbusters VR game for the Meta Quest 2. While we haven’t seen much beyond a brief movie trailer, it’s good to know that we’ll soon be experiencing the beloved franchise in a new way.
Players will run their own “Ghostbusters HQ” in the new city of San Francisco and solve a deep mystery in a new chapter in the Ghostbusters universe.
It also supports four-player co-op, so one more question – who are you calling?
Resident Evil 4 – Mercenaries VR is out now and brings the fan-favorite mode to Meta Quest 2
When Resident Evil 4 launches on VR in 2021, it won’t have fan-favorite Horde mode mercenaries. As of today, this issue has been resolved, as the mode is offered as a free update to all players with the base game.
Rebuilt by Armature Studio, the mercenaries will challenge players to eliminate as many Ganados as possible before the time expires. In addition to VR-exclusive leaderboards and 20 new challenges, Mercenary Corps will also have some “VR-only treats”, including a big head mode, a classic horror mode in black and white, and golden gun skins for weapons. These unlocks will also work in the main campaign.
The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners – Chapter 2: Retribution takes you back to New Orleans to face a “bloodthirsty threat”
The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners – Chapter 2: Retribution takes players back to the streets of post-apocalyptic New Orleans and promises to be deadlier than the first. What does this mean for players? Among other things, players will have to contend with “fewer resources, more walkers, and a new bloodthirsty threat that will hunt you down throughout the city.”
The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners – Chapter 2: Retribution is coming later in 2022.
NFL PRO ERA is the first officially licensed VR NFL game that will let you take your favorite team to the Super Bowl
StatusPRO has announced NFL PRO ERA, the first officially licensed VR NFL game where players can lead their favorite teams to the Super Bowl. Using “NFL game data to create the most realistic live NFL VR experience to date,” NFL PRO ERA will have players take on the role of a QB to practice, play catch with friends online at an NFL stadium, and play on the biggest stage in a real NFL game play on.
Among Us, VR will enrich virtual reality
InnerSloth, Robot Teddy and Schell Games have revealed that VR in the US will arrive during the 2022 holiday season. We got a better look at the game after The Game Awards 2021 was revealed, and it has the backstabbing that all fans have come to expect from the series. It also looks more intense in VR.
Additionally, Schell Games announced that there are three other projects in the works, but details will be announced later.
Moss: Book II continues Quill’s story on Meta Quest 2 this summer
Originally released on PlayStation VR, Moss: Book II is now coming to Meta Quest 2 in summer 2022. This new entry will continue the story of the first game and will see Quill go on another adventure “End the Relentless” arcane reign to save the world from a cataclysm. “
Bonelab builds on everything Boneworks does so well
Zero Pressure has announced Bonelab, the follow-up to Bonelab, featuring “a next-level interaction engine with nearly unlimited player freedom.” It also added a new story and “two years of innovation and interaction engine process”.
Players need to escape execution in a mysterious underground laboratory in a world that reacts just like the real world. Bonelab will also provide extensive mod support.
Build your dream city in the city: VR…next week!
While it’s not a “one-on-one port,” Cities: VR will help players build the city of their dreams and see it like never before. To this end, Kuaiyou Games will lead players to experience their creations in a whole new way “through the screen”.
The best part? It was released on April 28, 2022.
Beat Saber – Electronic mixtape adds Deadmau5, Marshmello, Pendulum and more
Along with the release of the OST5 and Fall Out Boy music packs, Beat Games has announced Beat Saber’s electronic mixtape DLC, which adds tracks from Deadmau5, Marsmello, Pendulum, and more.
Red Matter 2 will pick up where the original left off and take you through our solar system
Those who played it will remember that the original Red Matter left players with a suspense that made it harder to wait for the sequel to be announced. Now, this next entry is closer to launch and promises to transport players across our solar system from “a base on our own space station, above Saturn’s rings, and beyond.”
The puzzles in Red Matter 2 will once again receive a lot of attention, but this time it will give players more tools and a better jetpack to help solve them.
Espire 2 takes players back to the world of spies, and this time they can bring friends
Espire 2 will build on the foundation of the International Spy Foundation established by 2019’s Espire 1: VR Operative, but this time it will launch a separate co-op campaign that will bring players back to the location from the first game. It will also tell a side story, filling the gap between the two main entries.
Espire 2’s single-player campaign will ask players to locate and stop “untrackable hypersonic missiles,” a “true apocalyptic device,” by using high-tech gadgets and more.
Become the mighty wizard RUNINSMAGUS in a narrative-driven adventure
RUINSMAGUS will let players use magic in VR and give them the opportunity to “grow from a novice wizard to a powerful, spell-casting wizard” in a narrative-driven adventure that sends players into the depths of the city of Grand Amnis. RUINMAGUS will also feature 26 full voice tasks featuring the voice talents of the likes of Naomi Ohzora, Ai Maeda and Eiji Takemoto.
