Malenia is arguably the toughest boss to deal with Eldon Ring, while her main difficulty is that she can heal herself by hitting you with a sword attack. However, there is an issue with the game that makes her tougher – a bug meant that when the player summoned an ally to help against her, she could heal herself without actively reaching out to the player.
Let Me Solo Her, the premier expert called to fight Malenia, posted a video of the bug in patch 1.04. At around 8:30 in the video you can see Let Me Solo Her fighting Malenia, it’s quite a fight as she keeps healing even though Let Me Solo Her dodges all her attacks perfectly .
Let Me Solo Her can still kill her – after all, this player is legendary for a reason. Eldon Ring Community – but other players also noticed the bug. This may be due to delays in online games or server differences; Eldon Ring Attack hits may have been recorded, but only partially. One player using EX-Eva on Reddit had this theory:
I haven’t seen anyone posting this offline, which leads me to believe it’s a result of the multiplayer stability improvements mentioned in the patch notes. As others have pointed out, you may be hit in the console world, not on your screen, which records healing but does no damage.
This is consistent with the way she heals offline, when you die from her dance of waterfowl, if she continues to attack after you die, even if she doesn’t deal damage, you will notice her healing when she walks past your corpse .
FromSoftware has been patching Eldon Ring Since the game’s launch; there have been numerous bug fixes in the most recent patch, including one that nerfed its extremely terrifying blood dog.
