For anyone who’s been following this site in 2022, you probably know that the main issue with the Galaxy S22 is the size of its battery. It’s pretty small at just 3,700mAh. For flagship devices, that’s not the case at all. I’ve had my Galaxy S22+ for 2 days and so far that my phone didn’t freeze before 5pm is an absolute revelation. All that being said, if the newly shared rumors are true, the Galaxy S23 series may not have any battery issues.
according to @TheGalox_ On Twitter, Samsung may be looking to tap EV battery tech Galaxy S23 lineup, resulting in a substantial increase in production capacity. In detail, the Galaxy S23 can be equipped with a battery of up to 4,500mAh, the S23+ can be equipped with a battery of up to 5,000mAh, and the S23 Ultra can be equipped with a large battery of up to 5,500mAh.
All of this is reportedly thanks to technology that Samsung has developed and repurposed from its Samsung SDI arm, a part of Samsung that specializes in lithium-ion batteries and renewable energy technologies. Their work can be found in vehicles like BMW i3, Fiat EV, and more. The point is, their technology is proven and already powering vehicles and operating safely around the world.
As for how the actual technology increases battery capacity, it’s unclear, the only news is that Samsung has been able to increase the density of the battery and thus increase the capacity. As long as I can scroll on TikTok for longer, I don’t care how it works out.
