The 2022 Meta Quest Gaming showcase is now closed.
The roughly 30-minute presentation highlights several exciting new Quest 2 games that will lead us in the year ahead, including Among Us VR and Cities: VR.
If you missed the Meta event, or want a reminder of all the great VR games being teased, here are the details and trailers for each game announced at the Meta Quest Game Showcase.
Ghostbusters VR
Are you ready to destroy some ghosts? Yes, that’s right, the Ghostbusters VR game is coming to Quest 2 later this year.
As you can see from the trailer, you and three other teams of ghost hunters will have to venture into spooky environments to eliminate the ghosts that terrorize your neighborhood.
We don’t know much else right now, but be sure to check back for details as Meta announced more on the eve of the game’s release.
Moss: Book Two
After an incredible debut on PSVR, Moss: Book II is headed to Quest 2 this summer (that’s June, July, or August).
Just like the original, Moss: Book II delights players with its unique take on the classic adventure game. From your VR perspective, you can manipulate the environment so that Quill can complete various puzzles and take down enemies.
After Quill successfully rescues Uncle Argus in Book One, Book Two continues Quill’s adventures. Although Quill is being hunted by a winged tyrant who seems bent on preventing her from ending her arcane reign, things aren’t easy.
Beat Saber: Electronic Mixtape
Beat Saber will expand its song library with track listings dedicated to your favorite EDM tunes. This will include songs from major artists like Deadmau5, Marshmello and Pendulum – as well as the cult hit Sandstorm from Darude.
The latest Beat Saber updates – like OST 5 and the Fall Out Boy add-on – are some of the best in the game. The songs and settings are incredible, and the FOB track puts you center stage in front of a large crowd; plus the recently added arc and chain mechanics make the levels feel more immersive than ever.
We can’t wait to play the electronic mixtape.
Among Us VR
Following amazing VR hits like I Expect You To Die 2 and Lost recipes, developer Schell Games is teaming up with InnerSloth and Robot Teddy to bring the hit social reasoning game Among Us later this year. Take to Quest 2.
We’ve also heard that Schell Games will be working with Meta on three other games. Although we’ll have to wait a bit longer to find out what those might be.
The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners – Chapter 2: Retribution
Get ready to put your zombie apocalyptic survival skills to the test when The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners – Chapter 2: Retribution launches later this year.
Following the original player’s decision to save or condemn New Orleans, Skydance Interactive is bringing fans back into action for an even tougher battle for survival. There are more walkers, fewer resources, and a whole new bloody threat.
Cities: Virtual Reality
Fan-favorite city-building game Cities: Skylines has been crafted for Quest 2: VR.
Fast Travel Games turns you into the head of your own city, and you’ll be responsible for maintaining the power, homes, and well-being of its inhabitants. This VR experience may not be a one-to-one port, but it will give you a whole new way to create the cityscape of your dreams (or your nightmare, if you will).
What’s more, if you pre-order the game before its April 28 release, you’ll get a 10% discount.
bone laboratory
Following on from its lifelike VR experience Boneworks, Stress Level Zero will release a brand new game for Quest 2 and PC VR in 2022.
Promising a deeper level of immersion and realism than its predecessor, Bonelab will test players’ combat skills as they battle in a mysterious underground laboratory while trying to escape execution.
Every object in Bonelab behaves like it does in real life, so players can bring creativity to their struggle for survival while they use all the tools in the world around them to eliminate enemies.
NFL Pro Era
The first official NFL game is coming to Quest 2. Using NFL game data, NFL Pro Era promises an authentic NFL experience that will make you start feeling like a pro.
Through its quarterback drills and other drills, you’ll learn to decipher defenses, run offenses, and play games that help bring home the trophy — all while surrounded by virtual entertainment at your favorite NFL stadium.
Ruin Mage
The Meta Quest Gaming showcase gave us another look at RuinsMagus, a fantasy JRPG in VR.
As a novice wizard, players must explore the ruins of a long-forgotten labyrinth hidden beneath the streets of Grand Amnis. As players explore, their control over the arcane arts will increase, turning them into a full-fledged wizard.
The base game, released later this year, promises a lot of content, including 26 fully voiced missions featuring Japanese voice actors.
Resident Evil 4 – Mercenaries
One of the best Meta Quest 2 games is getting even better now, as mercenary mode is finally coming to Resident Evil 4 VR.
Wave after wave of Canados’ classic game mode that pits players against each other has finally been added to the VR version of the hit horror game. Additionally, it offers players some new challenges to test their skills.
Completing challenges will also unlock new goodies, such as Big Head Mode and Black and White Classic Horror Mode. These unlocks can be used not only in mercenary mode, but also in the main campaign to mix in your next playthrough.
red substance 2
Those waiting to see what happens after the Red Matter suspense is over will soon have an answer.
Players must pick up where they left off in the previous game and continue their quest to stop the red matter by traveling through the solar system. On your way, you will discover dark secrets and do what you can to save humanity.
Vertical Robot promises that Red Matter 2 is more ambitious than previous games, and you’ll face a wider variety of tools and puzzles. There’s no release date yet, but the team says they’ll share more details with us later this year.
Minaret 2
Return to the fascinating world of international espionage with Espire 2 from Tripwire Presents and Digital Lode.
In the follow-up to 2019’s spy thriller, players will once again be sent on an impossible mission to prevent the launch of terrifying untrackable missiles. Wielding an array of high-tech gadgets, it’s time to show off your best Ethan Hunt impressions as you sneak behind enemy lines to save the world for a second time.
Also, this time you don’t need to work alone, as Espire 2 will set up a co-op campaign between this game’s events and Espire 1 that you and your friends can play together.
