Halo Infinite developer 343 Industries has revealed three new modes coming to Season 2: Lone Wolves.
These headline the classic Halo mode King of the Hill, which arrives on May 3 along with two all-new modes: Last Spartan Standing and Land Grab.
King of the Hill dates back to the original Halo game in 2001, and while players can recreate the original mode in custom games, the standard mode is returning to infinity.
When the previous one is captured, a new hill will spawn instead of only having a part of the battlefield where the player fought. Whoever spends uncontested time on the hill gets a point, and the team with the most points at the end of the game wins.
The Lone Wolf-themed The Last of the Spartans Stands isn’t all that complicated, with 343 Industries simply describing the goal in one word: survival. Dogfight mode sees 12 players spawn on the brigade battle map, and with a limited loadout, only 5 players respawn, meaning the game is over when they leave. The game ends when only one player remains.

The level-up killer mechanic from previous Halo games returns in Last Spartan Standing, similar to the gun games in Call of Duty, where getting kills gives players access to better weapons.
Finally, Land Grab is a new mode reminiscent of Territories from Halo 2 and 3, where players team up to fight to capture various neutral areas that appear around the map, with the 11th team to capture winning.
Halo Infinite Season 2 will also bring new maps, limited-time events, and an all-new Battle Pass to the game. 343 Industries said earlier this month that it is also expected to address a lack of content in which the community is “totally impatient”.
In our 9/10 review of the online mode, IGN said: “Halo Infinite’s multiplayer offers a spectacular modern take on one of the game’s most admired first-person shooters.”
