The adventure game spinoff of Borderlands is back in a whole new way.this Stories from Borderlands The series will return with a new game in the interactive novel style later this year, Gearbox announced Thursday at PAX East.
While the details of the project are pretty straightforward, Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford let fans know how different the project will be from previous games.
“This time around, we’re imagining new characters and new stories from Borderlands,” Pritchford told viewers on the studio’s PAX East show. “Soon, we’ll be announcing a brand new game set in the world of Borderlands and presented in this interactive novel style. I’m talking brand new Stories from Borderlands adventure. ”
Stories from Borderlands Originally developed by TellTale Games, it tells a story over a five-episode release. After Telltale Games shut down in 2018, the franchise was sold to 2K Games, the owner of the Borderlands franchise. The latest game will be published by 2K and developed by Borderlands studio Gearbox.In fact, according to Pitchford, Gearbox is already developing new Stories from Borderlands Secret Games in recent years.
Pitchford also told viewers that they can expect a full reveal of the new game sometime this summer, ahead of its release later this year.
