Fi’s Material Your changes are so small you probably won’t notice them.
You should already know what Google Fi is, but whether or not you subscribe to Google’s MVNO service, its Android companion app has finally caught up with other Google apps with its own Material You layout. This isn’t a complete redesign (if that’s what you’re hoping for), the app only supports dynamic color themes and small changes to the navbar interface.
9to5Google first spotted the change, and it appears to be in the early stages of rollout.this Can Be part of a limited soak test, as there are basically no other public reports of the new layout, or it may be so small that most people making adjustments don’t notice.

It’s hard to tell with limited examples, but the changes seem to be fairly modest. As you can see above, dynamic colors color the icons in the navigation bar, as well as colored text and icons in other parts of the application, and may also affect content graphics. Avatars and device icons are also reportedly colored to match, but there aren’t any examples to show. The navigation bar could be a little taller, now outlining the icon of the selected tab with a Material You-style pill.
The rollout of changes appears to be limited. 9to5 states that it’s available on v60 of the app, but it’s not on any of our devices, even the desired version. Changes such as these sometimes take the form of remotely triggering “feature flags,” and Google may temporarily limit deployments to part of a staggered release.
Last year, Google Fi added support for end-to-end encryption for “qualified” calls (between Google Fi subscribers when using the Google dialer). Earlier this month, Google slashed prices on some unlimited plans by $5-10 a month. This has the unusual effect of making a three-line simple infinite plan slightly Cheaper than a two- or four-tier plan, but Google will Google.
