As we get closer to the expected launch of Samsung’s next-generation Galaxy Z Fold and Flip phones, more details about their design and specifications are emerging. New leaks point to a slimmer, lighter footprint, making the Z Fold 4 more handheld and portable.
Mature leaker Ice Universe post Regarding the size change on Twitter, it was also pointed out that the phone will allegedly have a more square display than the previous Fold. This variation also comes with slightly narrower bezels.

Other tweets by industry insiders include a retweet from Display Supply Chain Consultant CEO Ross Young Who says the Z Fold and Flip are supposedly producing twice as much as they do for the Fold and Flip 3. This rumor implies that Samsung has high expectations for sales of both devices, and may drop prices to spur more sales.
Samsung produced more than twice as many Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4 phones as the Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 in July. This indicates a very strong launch. May see price cuts.April 20, 2022

We’ve seen rumors of a Z Fold 4 camera before, and other information suggests we’re expecting the usual spec bumps from a generational upgrade. Some sources claim the phone will include an S-Pen, but Ice Universe claims that’s not the case.
Dutch tech blog Galaxy Club claims the battery capacity is 4270mAh, split into two cells, which is known to be great for extending battery life and helps keep the device fairly thin.
Any details we see in the leak are still to be confirmed, as no official announcement has been made, but the buzz the phone is generating four months before its expected launch is a good sign.
The Z Fold 3 is still a little…strong
A slimmer form factor is very welcome in giant folding devices like the Z Fold series, as long as battery life remains decent. No one wants to carry around an unbagable brick that they will inevitably use to take photos and videos.
We love the Galaxy Z Fold 3 a lot, but its thickness and weight are pain points for other cutting-edge devices. At 271 grams, it’s a thick, two-handed phone, and while the Z Fold 4 may be a lot lighter, it’s certainly a two-handed phone as well.
There have been many conflicting leaks about it, but if the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 has an S-Pen built in, it will be one of the most versatile phones on the market, and it’s got us excited about the future of the growing foldable niche .
