UPDATE (04/23/22) – Ubisoft also confirmed It has no plans to add NFTs to Project Q.
After various leaks, Ubisoft officially announced Project Q, a “team battle arena where players truly own the experience” rather than a battle royale.
Ubisoft announced the news Twitter, Saying “The game is in early development and we will continue to test it, so now all you can do is sign up for the upcoming beta.” In addition to sharing the game’s first concept art, Ubisoft added that it’s not a battle royale , but “with multiple PvP modes with one goal: fun!”
This image shows four characters in New York City’s Central Park. While this is just concept art, it seems to hint at some of their abilities. The character on the left is using some sort of hand-held rocket and appears to have explosives on him.
Another character has a lightning bolt in their hair and yellow costume, teasing that they may have lightning abilities or may be very fast. There is also an older character holding a shovel that appears to have the ability to fly or glide. Finally, a bespectacled character stands on the bridge, engrossed.
According to VGC, leaked games for Project Q have started leaking online after Ubisoft invited players to test the new game. It looks similar to Fortnite, but as Ubisoft says, it’s not a battle royale.
