Shortly after the first images of the Pixel Watch leaked, we seem to have our first full look at the entire device.According to from Android Central, a reader of the publication found an abandoned Pixel Watch at a restaurant, took a photo, and sent it in. While we don’t know much about the watch’s specs, we know it’s likely to debut at Google’s I/O this year.
Sadly, readers have had no luck launching the watch and looking at the software. The furthest they can apparently see in the device is that the boot logo is a “G”, and it doesn’t get any further than that. Sources say the watch could be a “test model for the in-house Pixel team,” but that hasn’t been confirmed.
However, the image above matches what we’ve already seen, suggesting that this is indeed a Pixel Watch — or a very good replica. It seems like there must be one button below the crown and possibly another button above the crown. The watch was previously rumored to have two buttons, one of which was a dedicated voice assistant button. The source also said the bottom of the watch “looks like metal, but feels like it’s plated with glass.”
As for the wristband, it appears to be a proprietary Google wristband made of some sort of jelly material. This means you won’t be able to just plug in any straps, and you’ll probably need to use official Google straps that might be on sale.
The most interesting thing about this leak is not that the Pixel Watch was apparently found in a restaurant, but that it was left next to the box. Presumably a Google employee carried the device and forgot about it, but why would they carry the box with them?
according to Android Centrala message at the bottom of the box said: “This device is not authorized under the regulations of the Federal Communications Commission and Industry Canada, nor has it been tested for compliance with EU regulations.”
The same note also states that the model is only for “internal testing and development” and that “marking and packaging are not final.”
