After teaser images were posted online, we thought it was the Suzuki cappuccino, the latest Subaru BRZ and its GT300 racing cousin.

The first new cars after the launch of the Gran Turismo 7 will be launched on Monday 25 April 2022.
As we previously reported, Polyphony Digital’s vehicle collection is going through server maintenance next Monday. This usually means a game update as soon as the game is back online.
The game’s producer, Kazunori Yamauchi, tweeted today (April 24) an image with three racing cars in silhouette. Everyone is subtly hidden to disguise their identities, though not in a way that you can’t at least figure out their bases.
The image is accompanied by the text: “Will be updated next week.”
It’s a staple of the GT Sport life cycle, and the last time Yamauchi teased new content for the Toyota GR86 in this way was in July 2021.
Here are three cars we think will land on the Gran Turismo 7 on April 25th. Be sure to let us know in the comments what you think they might be.
Suzuki cappuccino
Produced for seven years in the 90s, the Cappuccino is a small sports car built to the Japanese Kei car regulations, which determine its size and engine capacity.
It has a three-cylinder turbocharged 657cc engine, so this won’t set any speed records. It’s handy for Autopolis One Hour Mission, which was recently added to the game, as it goes head-to-head with in-game rivals like the Daihatsu Copen, Honda S660, and Honda Beat.
Interestingly, due to its age, we don’t expect this to fit in a Brand Central showroom and show up in the used car cycle.
Subaru BRZ ZD8
We expect the third vehicle in the dark image will be a new-generation Subaru BRZ. Since the platform-shared Toyota GR86 is already in Gran Turismo 7, the BRZ is listed as part of the upcoming in-game TOYOTA GAZOO Racing GT Cup race.
Taking all these factors into account, the ZD8 BRZ will arrive at the Gran Turismo 7’s brand center on April 25.

With Monday’s update, the Gran Turismo 7 will also be available as a racing version of the same new ZD8 Subaru BRZ.
This looks to be a 2021-spec car competing in the GT300 category of Japan’s premier racing championship – SUPER GT.
Entered by R&D Sport, entry #61 is driven by Takashi Iguchi and Hideki Yamauchi. You can almost see their names on the teaser image.
The car will fall into the Gr.3 category and complement the existing Subaru WRC Gr.3 car.
Additional Features and Track Layouts
This follows a schedule set by Yamauchi, which explains “…some additional updates will be deployed between now and the end of April, which will add new cars and course layouts, as well as implement some other fixes.”
Following the 1 million free points for all players, the recently added missions, and the three new cars confirmed on the 25th, will there be further game changes and new track layouts tomorrow? We’ll find out in a few hours.
