Publisher Flyhigh Works and developer Happymeal announce A Guide to the Mysteries of Taibetsu: Twisted Bamboo Lanternsthe third entry in the mystery adventure game series Mystery Guide. It will launch on Switch in Japan on July 7, with other platforms to follow later. The first two games were later released for PlayStation 4 and PC as well.
Here’s an introduction to the game’s prologue:
Beppu City, Oita Prefecture.
In this picturesque land, a large-scale art exhibition called “Techmix” is about to take place, which combines the traditional bamboo crafts of Beppu with the latest digital art.
The combined power of the prominent Anan family headed by numerous artists, and the group “Artenuv”, which uses cutting-edge technology for artistic creation, is expected to attract a large audience to the novel exhibition.
However, the high profile it represents is also the object of envy and hatred, as is the exhibition of defamation and threats by those who see the problem.
The protagonist (player) and junior detective Ken, perhaps in recognition of their day-to-day success and investigative abilities, are hired to increase the security of the exhibit and rush to Oita.
The protagonist and Ken sympathize with the people of Oita who participated in the exhibition and pray for the success of the exhibition, working as a security team to protect it.
However, the accident happened in a place they never expected…
