It seems Sony’s next flagship over-ear headphones aren’t the only ones leaking ahead of the public announcement, as official images of a new set of Sony’s noise-cancelling wireless earbuds have been posted online, thanks to Leaker Snoopy Tech (pass android police). According to SnoopyTech, the earbuds will be called the LinkBuds S, suggesting that they may have some similarities to the LinkBuds that Sony released in February.
The original LinkBuds had a unique “open” design with an unconventional donut-shaped hole designed to help you better hear your surroundings while wearing the earbuds. In contrast, the LinkBuds S have a more traditional closed-back design like the Sony WF-1000XM4s.

However, from the pictures shared by SnoopyTech, it appears that the outside of each bud of the LinkBuds S has a large vent that could be used to help achieve some kind of transparency mode so you can hear what’s going on around you. SnoopyTech also says that the LinkBuds S will be able to “seamlessly switch from ambient sound to advanced noise cancellation, with the ability to play automatically based on your behavior.”
According to the pictures, the new earbuds will come in gold beige, black and Walkman Blog report, white. Walkman Blog Also noticed that the LinkBuds S have a proximity sensor that looks identical to the one on the WF-1000XM4s.
A public relations representative for Sony did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
