Apple may release gamepads compatible with iPhones, iPads, and other devices, according to a new patent. The latest patent filed by the brand is the second to feature a variety of gamepads made by Apple.
- Apple has filed a second license for the gamepad designs for its devices
- The new concept features a variety of features, including the foldable controller for iPhones
- There will also be an Apple TV wireless gamepad
Will Apple enter the game and compete with the Nintendo Switch and so on? In terms of power, the A15 Bionic will have a hard time competing, but of course it’s the standard console design that Apple still lacks. However, that could change as new licenses reveal that Apple is working on various game controllers for iPhones, iPads and more.
Apple Gamepads for all platforms
This new patent shows three types of experimental gamepads. The first concept shows two removable joysticks attached to the edges of the iPhone, such as the Joy Con of the Nintendo Switch. These joysticks can even be compatible with tablets and smartphones for visual and image orientation.

The second concept is similar to the first license involving a foldable but modified case for iPhones. It shows a cotton pad on the left side and four pad buttons on the right side. In the middle, the screen will display the content of the various games and will even serve as an additional control.

The third type is a standard controller that looks like an Xbox controller with sports phone calls and other functions. In the picture, the controller is wirelessly connected to an Apple TV, but it can also work with your iPhone or iPad using a Bluetooth connection.

There are already third-party controllers compatible with Apple devices. The Nimbus Steel series pictured at the front of this article is a gamepad running on all Apple devices. However, the Cupertino company wants to offer its customers and clients, such as the case of Apple Arcade and Apple TV. It is possible that we may finally see an Apple gamepad in the near future.
