For those who didn’t touch the first opus released in September 2019, the storytelling game Kôtarô Uchikoshi (Zero Escape) and Spike Chunsoft is divided into two parts, the real world exploration (The test) and the one in the dreams (Somnium). As a point & click on a personal point of view, the player must explore crime scenes to gather clues and take advantage of witnesses and other actors related to a clear and bad case.
To help, young Mizuki and Ryuki can count on the works of Aiba and Tama, the artificial intelligence kept in place that can trigger x-ray vision, thermal vision or even recreate events in a modern environment. In the next section, a new feature allows you to read the minds of key people to reveal what they are hiding, but this is of course just a taste of the stage. Somniumwhich allows the player to enter a person’s memory while asleep and is placed on the machine.
During this stage, assistants Aiba and Tama take over and are directed directly to the real environment. A kind of time-limited puzzle, this phase requires you to explore the structure, find the right interaction with the environment and answer the questions correctly in order to overcome the psychological lock that separates the real player. A few dangerous bumps in the first part but which we obviously can start with in our spare time.
AI: Somnium Files – nirvanA Initiative will be available June 24 with English / Japanese audio and text acting.
