An Apple analyst has teased the first full-screen iPhone, which will reportedly be released sometime in 2024. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who had previously predicted the phone could arrive sometime in 2023, shared his new prediction in a series of tweets, revealing more of the display components supposedly included in the iPhone.
“I think a true full-screen iPhone will come out in 2024,” Kuo tweeted. “High-end iPhones in 2024 will feature under-screen front-facing cameras and under-screen Face ID.”
I think the true full-screen iPhone will come out in 2024. High-end iPhones in 2024 will feature under-screen front-facing cameras and under-screen Face ID. Low-light conditions are not good for front-facing camera quality, and ISP and algorithms are critical for quality improvement. https://t.co/vWjeZYZUPK

Kuo goes on to say that “low-light conditions are not good for front-facing camera quality,” and that “ISP and algorithms are critical for quality improvement.”
Regarding the 2024 launch, Guo said the timing has more to do with marketing than technical issues.
According to Kuo’s prediction, the full-screen iPhone will debut as the iPhone 16. That means the upcoming iPhone 15 won’t have an under-display camera for Face ID.
