Apple today released the second beta of its upcoming iOS 15.5 and iPadOS 15.5 updates to developers for testing purposes, with the new software coming two weeks after the first beta.
Developers can download iOS 15.5 and iPadOS 15.5 over-the-air through the Apple Dev Center or after installing the correct profile on an iPhone or iPad.
iOS 15.5 and iPadOS 15.5 are minor updates compared to previous iOS 15 point releases and have a limited number of changes. Apple may release the Apple Classical app sometime in the near future, and it’s mentioned in beta, but it’s not released yet. Apple is laying the groundwork for a feature with the iOS 15.5 update that will allow developers of the Reader app to add links to external websites for registering and managing accounts outside of the App Store.
There are also some small changes to Apple Pay Cash, Apple has added a request and send option, and Apple is making some changes to iTunes Pass that used to be available in the Wallet app. The full list of changes is in our iOS 15.4 guide.
