Although the Watch Series 7 got a surface upgrade last year, Apple hopes to further optimize the remaining space on its smartwatch without adding a 45mm chassis. More specifically, analysts estimate the Watch Series 8 will have a 2-inch screen, a 5 percent increase over its predecessor. If that happens, it’ll also be bigger than Oppo’s Watch 2 and its 1.91-inch screen.
Many rumors are circulating about the Cupertino giant’s next-generation smartwatch. Nine times out of ten, she should take on a new look. Apple will consider ditching the round and traditional shapes of its previous series in favor of a flat design similar to its latest iPhones. In this case, the thinner sides of the watch may offer better resolution.

Body temperature sensor may appear on Watch Series 8
Another well-known leaker backed up his claim that Apple will eventually measure body temperature on the Watch Series 8. Mark Gurman reverted to what he said earlier and now thinks it’s likely to happen this year. The aforementioned sensors will be able to detect fever. While the U.S. is divided over abortion rights, Apple’s new connected watch will allow tracking of women’s periods and pregnancy.
However, Apple’s next-generation smartwatch will be more boxy and less rounded, but its processor shouldn’t show any unusual changes. Gurman’s claim that the Apple Watch Series 8 will feature the same chipset as the Watch Series 7 and Series 6 may disappoint fans.
