“We look forward to welcoming our players into a new era of Formula 1,” said Lee Mather, F1 senior creative director at Codemasters, which has been the sole developer of F1 games since 2009, until last year when they merged with Electronic Arts.
“In addition to the real-world changes, we’ve updated the physics to accommodate the new aerodynamic rules and redesigned the tire model for more realistic handling.
“With new and updated tracks, adaptive AI, F1 Life and expanded game options, now is the perfect time for players to sit back and enjoy the life of an F1 driver.”
Race Day Redefined allows players to customize their setup with new immersive and broadcast options for formation laps, safety car periods and pit stops.
Opting to be immersive, players will be faced with a risk-reward challenge that could be the difference between getting on the podium or finishing outside of the points. Broadcasts reduce stress, and controls and realistic cutscenes keep players close to the action.
F1 22 also features enhancements to returning features including My Team, allowing players to choose their starting budget based on three entry points – Rookie, Challenger and Front Runner.
It also features a critically acclaimed 10-year career with a two-player option, and multiplayer is back for epic races against the global racing world.
Players can now pre-order the Champions Edition, which includes three days of early access and a limited-time Miami-style content pack.
