FromSoftware releases a new patch for its wildly successful and difficult open-world RPG Eldon Ring Tuesday. You can check out a long list of patch notes on Bandai Namco’s website, but the 1.04 update has some key changes: the overly powerful Bleeding Dog has been nerfed, and the Unreal Wall is gone.
YouTuber Zullie the Witch tested the patch on Tuesday and found that the overpowered Rotten Stray dog wasn’t quite as tough as previous incarnations. Before the update, Bleeding Dogs had a glitch where the game could take massive health damage to your character due to a bug related to their attack animations – a bug that made Rotten Stray Dogs even more powerful than some bosses. Now, they have been fixed. Nor do we mean “fixation”, such as “take them to the vet” fixation. Zuli the witch shows the changes in this video.
Zullie also documented another key change: the mysterious Unreal Wall no longer disappears. In March, players found a fake wall in Volcano Manor that disappeared when you hit it 50 times. At first, players weren’t sure if the developers were using it to hide secrets, or if it was just a bug. After the patch, the walls will not collapse to expose another room. So the illusory-looking but destructible walls are just a clever way for developers to hide unwanted rooms, not a door to a bigger secret.
