One of the toughest bosses in the Elden Ring, Malenia, Blade of Miqueella, now automatically heals itself when the player calls for help.
While healing herself is one of Malenia’s normal abilities, she only does so when her attacks hit the player. However, a bug in Elden Ring’s latest update appears to mean she can repair herself at any point in battle, for no apparent reason.
Elden Ring’s lead Malenia specialist, Let Me Solo Her, discovered the bug when he was called to fight a boss.
His YouTube video shows this clearly: even if there are no players near Malenia, don’t mind taking damage from her, a lot of her health will bounce back.
Other players have noticed this too, with reddit user Demonboy995 saying it happens every time he is called to help fight Malenia.
It’s unclear what triggered the healing, but users hypothesized that since it only happened in multiplayer, the lag essentially caused Malenia to record hits that players didn’t record.
The infamous boss may just be finding his way against Let Me Solo Her, however, now the legendary Elden Ring summons appears in other players’ worlds to defeat her with ease.
Patch 1.04 also makes it more difficult to defeat Malenia in other, more deliberate ways, as it weakens the Swarm of Swarm spell that deals heavy blood loss damage.
In our 10/10 review, IGN said: “Elden Ring is FromSoftware’s massive iteration from the Souls series, bringing its relentlessly challenging combat to an incredible open world that gives us the freedom to choose ourselves path of.”
