The Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic are the world’s first smartwatches to run Wear OS 3.0. They also bring high-end features like body composition monitoring. Later this year, the company will unveil its new line of smartwatches with an interesting twist.
While the previous generation of Galaxy Watches came in vanilla and “classic” models, the Galaxy Watch 5 won’t have a classic version. Samsung will unveil two upcoming smartwatches: Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch 5 Pro. It’s unclear if these variants will feature the rotating bezel that Samsung fans love.
The Galaxy Watch 5 may come in two sizes, while the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro may be limited to one size.
A few weeks ago, we exclusively revealed that the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro will have a massive 572mAh battery. It should resolve all the battery life complaints people have about the Galaxy Watch 4 series. We can also expect the upcoming watch to inherit the circular OLED display, GPS, accelerometer, gyroscope, heart rate sensor and body composition sensor already found on the Galaxy Watch 4.
We can also confirm that the Galaxy Watch 5 will run a new version of One UI Watch on top of Wear OS 3. We can expect Samsung to further improve and add features to the One UI Watch. Whether the company uses the new processor for the Galaxy Watch 5 remains to be seen.
