Sony’s new-look PlayStation Plus isn’t out yet, but PlayStation fans may get the beloved cult classic as part of their membership.
Discovered by Gematsu, the Korea Game Ratings and Governance Council has released ratings for four Syphon Filter games for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. These games include Original Syphon Filter, Syphon Filter 2, Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror and Syphon Filter: Logan’s Shadow.
That could be good news for fans of the third-person shooter that has become synonymous with the PlayStation brand. Unfortunately, not all siphon filter games are rated by the committee. Syphon Filter 3 and Syphon Filter: Omega strains are not included, so don’t know if they’ll also be listed in PlayStation Plus.
Sony recently revealed its update to PlayStation Plus, which brings it closer to Xbox Game Pass. If the Syphon Filters series is indeed on this new PS Plus – as these ratings are not guaranteed – it will likely be under the “Premium” tier, adding PS1, PS2 and PS3 (via streaming) and PSP games to the product middle. Looks like nostalgia will cost you.
The benefit of this is that you may be able to download the Siphon Filter game to your PS4/PS5. The Siphon Filter was never released on PS3, so there are no technical issues preventing Sony from emulating PS3 games on PS4/PS5.
Sony finally revealed the release date of its new PlayStation Plus earlier today, which is April 22. Release dates are May 23 for Asian markets (excluding Japan), June 1 for Japan, June 13 for the Americas, and June 22 for Europe. Existing PlayStation Plus subscribers will receive the “Basic” tier, And users who want the top premium tier will pay $17.99 per month.
