Google has started rolling out the Magic Eraser feature, collage editor, and new HDR effects to its older Pixel, iPhone, and other Android smartphones through Google Photos. In this tutorial, learn how to use the Magic Eraser to remove unwanted objects from photos.

The Magic Eraser feature uses AI algorithms to remove unwanted objects or photo bombs from images. It works best in photos where the subject is discernible from the background and other elements. It’s also a faster alternative to Adobe Photoshop, where you have to manually remove objects from images.
In addition to Magic Eraser, Google is also rolling out a collage feature and HDR video effects in Google Photos. You need a subscription to Google One to benefit from it.
Smartphones compatible with the Google Magic Eraser function
Magic Eraser was introduced on the Pixel 6 series and was exclusive to Google smartphones until the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. Google has finally started rolling it out on its older Pixel and other Android smartphones. Here is a list of smartphones compatible with this feature:
- Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 7 series
- Pixel 5 series and earlier (added in 2023)
- Android smartphones and iPhones with a Google One subscription
How to Use Google’s Magic Eraser on Your iPhone or Android Smartphone
If you own an Android smartphone other than a Pixel or iPhone and subscribe to Google One, you’ll be able to access the feature through the latest version of the Google Photos app.
- Open the Google Photos app on your smartphone
- Select Image whose object do you want to delete
- according to edit in the menu below and open tool
- choose magic eraser and wait Google Photos Analyzes Images
- If a suggestion is available, press the context button reset all

- save Picture if you are happy with the result
