Halo Infinite Developer 343 Industries is aiming to launch the game’s long-awaited online co-op campaign mode in “late August,” the game’s creative lead Joseph Staten said in a new Halo Waypoint blog post.As part of the new roadmap included in the post, Staten also shared that 343 is targeting an open beta Halo Infinite Forge mode in September.
343 industries announced months in advance Halo Infinite Co-op and Forge modes released in December will not be available at launch. The developer then stated that it aimed to release a campaign collaboration “with” Season 2, before delaying that goal “later” in Season 2.
Split-screen campaign co-op lets you play the campaign with your friends on the same TV, farther apart. According to the roadmap, 343 Industries expects to launch split-screen co-op sometime before the third multiplayer season, which begins on November 8. And it seems that estimates are still subject to change, as the roadmap says the timing of the split-screen collaboration is “pending.”

As for Forge, here’s Staten’s discussion of how the 343 program will go straight to the public beta:
We want to get the Forge toolset into your hands as soon as possible so that great community maps and modes can get to the game faster. To achieve this, we plan to launch the Forge public beta later in Season 2. We’ve successfully used Forge for private test flights with limited audiences for some time now, so we’ve decided to forego a large-scale formal test flight program and go to a public beta. With this approach, we can get core Forge tools to everyone faster, while still focusing on our core priority of continuing to improve Halo Infinite.Forge will persist from the public beta, evolving and evolving over time.
According to the roadmap, 343 Industries also plans to release a feature in late August that will allow you to replay campaign missions, a notable omission at launch.
While it can be frustrating to hear that you have to wait longer for many of these features, Staten emphasizes that the company is taking the time to develop these features at a pace that is good for the health of the team. “We knew we needed to deliver more content and more functionality faster,” Staten said. “Sticking to zero priorities means that sometimes we need to slow down to stay healthy and move faster later.” Staten also noted that 343 plans to introduce seasonal quality-of-life improvements in what it calls “Drop Pods.”
Halo Infinite The second multiplayer season will begin on May 3, and it will add new maps and new modes.
