An update to Call of Duty developer Infinity Ward’s Twitter page has fans speculating that the team may be ready to announce a new Modern Warfare game.
On Friday, Infinity Ward swapped out both its Twitter banner and profile icon—whatever, at first glance—what appeared to be a solid black logo with no images or text.

However, keen-eyed players think they’ve spotted the ghost of the fan-favorite character lurking in the background, sparking whispers of an upcoming announcement.
Rumors began circulating in September that Infinity was working on a follow-up to its 2019 soft reboot of Modern Warfare, a movement believed to revolve around U.S. special forces fighting Colombian drug cartels. Activision has since confirmed that this year’s Call of Duty will indeed be part of Modern Warfare, but that’s all we officially know right now.
Activision’s “Going Dark” is linked to earlier reports by leaker RalphsValve, who tweeted Earlier this month The date “April 30” will be important.
Of course, if nothing is certain, all we can do is settle for this with a salt bucket of prerequisites, but keep an eye on this space as we may find out more about Modern Warfare 2 sooner or later.
Activision also recently revealed what’s new in the latest season of Call of Duty: Mobile, Wild Dogs, including a “new way to battle royale” through its new mode, Sandstorm.
Season 4 also offers two new maps – Cold War Satellite and Modern Warfare 2019’s Khandor Hideout – as well as new Operators, Weapons, Blueprints, Calling Cards, Charms and COD Points at 1am UK time on April 28, And 50 new tiers “Battle Pass Rewards”.
