Apple will no longer repair damaged iPhones that are said to be lost or stolen, according to the latest version of the brand. If true, Apple Authorized Repair Stores and Service Providers around the world will be ordered not to repair iPhones in the GSMA Device Registry that are said to be missing.

To begin with, Apple’s maintenance technicians will use the GSMA or Mobile Genius registry to check the device’s status. If they find the iPhone to be listed as lost or stolen from the device registry, they will have the right to refuse to repair it, the memory says. Reported incidents will first be approved by government officials before being sent to the corresponding register.

Invoice will be needed to repair iPhones locked or lost
Lost iPhones are not the only ones affected by this article. Apple does not already fix iCloud or locked passwords. Repairs are only possible if you provide proof, such as an invoice or receipt, that you own the equipment.
The same event will apply to used iPhone transactions. In this case, we recommend that you request an original invoice from the seller or make a transaction with an authorized reseller for the refurbished equipment. Another measure is to check if the iCloud account connected to the Apple device is correct before purchase.

Of course, you can always get your iPhone repaired outside of Apple Authorized Service Centers, primarily for device repairs. Although it is more expensive, having your device repaired by a technician with Apple certification is less risky and gives you more warranty.
