Everything announced at the 2022 Meta Quest Gaming Showcase
The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners – Chapter 2
First, we have a whole new look at The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners Chapter 2 Retribution, and yes, that’s still an absolute minority to say. A new trailer introduces us to the game’s opponents, and we get a glimpse of the new chainsaw weapon. It’s coming to Quest 2 and Rift later this year, with other platforms still to be confirmed.
NFL Pro Era
We also have a very brief trailer for the recently announced NFL Pro Era, which is coming to Quest 2 and PSVR this year. The game promises a full football experience in VR, although we’ve only seen very early gameplay today.
Among Us VR
As teased earlier, Among Us VR also stopped by to watch a full trailer. This video gives us a look at how the iconic party game will work in a headset. This one doesn’t have a release date yet, but it’s coming over the holiday season and will be coming to Quest, PSVR, and PC VR. Developer Schell Games also confirmed a three-game partnership with Meta Future Games.
red substance 2
Next, Vertical Robot brings a surprising sequel – Red Matter 2. This follow-up to the VR adventure game takes us back to an interstellar journey to explore sinister supernatural forces, as well as new mechanics like combat and platforming. It’s coming to Quest 2 this summer.
Minaret 2
VR stealth game Espire 1 is getting a full sequel with two campaigns instead of one. The single-player story will pick up where the first game left off, but there will also be a co-op campaign to bridge the gap between the two. This is the due date for Quest 2 this November.
Moss: Book 2
Just a few weeks after its release on PSVR, we confirmed that Quill’s second adventure is coming to Quest 2 this summer. Moss: Book 2 is a fitting follow-up to one of our favorite VR games, and we’re looking forward to seeing how it performs on the platform.
Ruin Magister
After a bumpy ride on Kickstarter, we finally got further confirmation that RUNINSMAGUS will be arriving in the west later this year. This VR JRPG looks gorgeous and continues to promise great characters and ambitious action. It will be released on Quest 2 and Steam.
Cities: Virtual Reality
We also got another look at VR city builder Cities: VR ahead of its release on Quest 2 next week. This is a complete spinoff of City Skylines, with detailed city management. It’s currently exclusive to Quest 2, but other platforms have been teased.
Resident Evil 4 VR
Resident Evil 4’s long-awaited mercenary mode is coming…today! Become an iconic character from the famous horror shooter and complete challenges to unlock new rewards, such as Big Head Mode. This is a free update for existing owners.
Beat Saber Electronic Mixtape
It wouldn’t be a Meta event without new Beat Saber content. Upcoming electronic mixtape packs promise to add artists like Rudimental, Pendulum, and Deadmau5. Look for it on all platforms soon.
bone laboratory
As promised, we’re finally seeing the full reveal of the highly anticipated follow-up to Boneworks. Bonelab is another physics-driven action game that expands on the original game and promises modding support on both Quest 2 and PC VR. It will hit both platforms later this year.
new home environment
As a final showcase, Meta also released the Quest Home environment where today’s showcase is located. But there’s still time for one last announcement…
Ghostbusters VR
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg stopped by to announce something very unexpected. Phantom and Fracked developer nDreams is developing a co-op Ghostbusters VR game published by Sony Pictures Virtual Reality. Team up with up to 4 friends, use iconic gadgets and destroy pesky ghosts as you build your new headquarters in San Francisco. No word yet on a release date.
