The left is really trying to make the pregnant man thing work.
Just days after Apple released their pregnant man emoji with the iOS 15.4 update, Netflix has started promoting a new series called “He’s Expecting.” The Japanese comedy is set to hit theaters on April 21.
“When a successful advertising executive finds out about all this and he becomes pregnant, he will be forced to confront social inequities he never considered before,” the description reads. The series, starring Japanese actor Saito Takumi (Hiyama Kentaro) and Ueno Shuri (Seto Aki) play the two leading roles.
“Male pregnancy has been around the world for over half a century,” the trailer opens.
“Mr. Hiyama,” the doctor told Hiyama. “You are a pregnant man.”
“It’s not a good world to live in a place where a man can have a baby for you,” Ueno said. When telling a friend about hearing about the pregnancy, she quipped, “I replied, ‘Is this really mine?’ Men usually use that line.”
Viewers also see Hiyama obtaining consent for an abortion.
He complained about not being able to eat anything without feeling nauseous and had an embarrassing moment of leaking breast milk in a work meeting.
The trailer raises another question, saying, “What exactly are ‘characters’? Why put people in boxes like ideal dads and ideal moms?”
“He’s Expecting” is adapted from the Japanese manga series “Kentaro Hiyama’s First Pregnancy”. The biological males of the series were able to conceive before Hinoyama experienced it firsthand. According to MyAnimeList, men around the world start to conceive, but have a lower chance of conceiving than women.
Males deliver by caesarean section. Another key theme of the series is how pregnant women are discriminated against in society.
Anyone who has watched the classic 1994 comedy “Teenage,” starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, knows well that male pregnancy is nothing new in the entertainment world. The political climate in 2022, however, is very different, with trans activists sticking to more inclusive terms such as “pregnant women.”
Judging from the trailer and source material, the protagonist in He’s Expecting is a biological male, not a transgender person. However, the timing of the series’ release comes at a time when the push for trans acceptance has never been stronger. Normalizing male bodies who bear children is an explicit goal of the left.
The launch of the new series comes shortly after Netflix announced it lost 200,000 subscribers in the first quarter of 2022, while expecting to lose another 2 million subscribers in the second quarter. Shares in the company fell more than 20% in after-hours trading, The Telegraph reported.
“Sober-headed virus makes Netflix unwatchable,” Elon Musk tweeted in response to the news.
