WhatsApp has been trying to adapt to the competition for some time now. After adding more features to unexpected messages and experimental feedback, the larger messaging team is now trying to improve file sharing by significantly increasing the size of files you can share.
- Beta users in certain regions can share up to 2 GB
- The current limit is 100MB
- There is no set time for the increase
WhatsApp file sharing is a less convenient way to share media information. But now, if this latest development is available on the public WhatsApp platform, then file sharing may be a little better.
One of the biggest restrictions users face when trying to share their files is size. With a limit of 100MB, users have to switch to other devices if they sometimes want to share large files when chatting, such as Telegram which already supports up to 2GB file sharing.
Now, as stated WABetaInfoA limited number of Argentine users who have the latest beta (2.22.8.5 and above) can share 2 GB of media files.

This huge increase is to see WhatsApp rise to the top of the ladder, especially considering that Signal, another popular alternative to WhatsApp, is also stuck in 100MB of files. Discord even requires expensive subscribers to allow sharing of files larger than 8MB.
Unfortunately, we do not know when, or even if, the increase will get in the way of ordinary users. This is a very early test, and it can be expected that WhatsApp will reverse these changes or never try other states.
Now, the only thing we can do is be patient. If the tested model starts to appear to more users or outside of Argentina, then that would be a good sign that the increase has actually taken place.
But what do you think? Is this increase coming soon? What is your favorite file sharing method?
