Sennheiser has launched a set of true wireless earbuds for fitness enthusiasts. It says the Sport True Wireless earphones include an Aware EQ pass-through setting that reduces interfering noise from your own body, such as your heartbeat or footsteps, while helping you stay aware of your surroundings. For runners, this can be a handy option.
There’s an interesting system called Adaptable Acoustic, which allows you to choose between open- and closed-ear adapters, and adjust equalizer settings to find the perfect sound for your workout. Focus EQ settings combined with closed-ear adapters are designed to block external audio.
You’ll be able to adjust the volume of external sounds you hear and create custom EQ presets in the Sennheiser Smart Control app. There are three sizes of ear adapters and four tabs to help you find the perfect fit.
Sennheiser says the earbuds feature 7mm dynamic drivers that deliver “full bass and exceptional clarity without distortion.” They have touch controls and voice assistant support. The earphones are compatible with Bluetooth 5.2 and audio codecs such as SBC, AAC and aptX, which will help users connect them to various devices.
The earbuds are IP54 rated, which means they’re dust, splash, and sweat resistant. Sennheiser says the battery can run for up to 9 hours. The charging case will add up to 18 hours of listening time.
Sennheiser’s Sport True Wireless headphones are available for pre-order today. The buds are priced at $130 and will ship May 3.
