In 2010, Apple software engineer Gray Powell left an iPhone 4 prototype in a bar in Redwood City, California. In an age where nearly every device leaks before its official release, images of new iPhones appearing online look odd. But it was a big deal at the time, and the incident even involved U.S. law enforcement. Now, more than a decade later, images of another highly anticipated device have popped up online in much the same way.

Saturday night, Android Central Shared photos of Google’s long-rumored Pixel Watch. The outlet said it obtained the image you see in this post from someone who spotted the smartwatch at a restaurant in the US. These photos confirm that the Pixel Watch will feature a round face and minimal display bezels. If you look closely, you’ll see that the wearable’s strap attaches directly to its case, with a latching mechanism that appears to be proprietary to Google, reminiscent of the design Fitbit uses on its Versa and Sense smartwatches (Google acquired the company in 2021).
This watch has a button next to the crown that looks like a microphone or altimeter port. On the back of the device, you can see an optical heart rate sensor. Unfortunately, the watch doesn’t go beyond its splash screen, so there are no photos of Wear OS 3 running.
