Sony claims that users looking to upgrade between the various tiers of the upcoming PlayStation Plus revamp will be able to do so “with ease”.
According to an email sent to users on ResetEra, Sony plans to allow players to move to a different tier, the cost of which will be adjusted based on the time remaining on the user’s current plan.
“You can easily upgrade to a higher benefit plan at any time. To do this, you pay the difference between your current plan and your new plan, adjusted for your remaining subscription time.”

It’s unclear how this will work in practice, or what the conversation rate will be between how long a subscription is remaining and how much players will have to pay to convert.

- Japan – target is June 1, 2022
- Americas – target June 13, 2022
- Europe – the target is June 22, 2022
