Apple did not discuss the 2022 iPad Pro at its “Peek Performance” event in March, as Cupertino is likely to save for this year’s fall event. The tablet could be introduced with a newer, more powerful and efficient M2 chip, as well as a variety of upgraded MacBook Pro and Mac devices, according to Apple legend Mark Gurman.
- The 2022 iPad Pro is expected to come out this fall
- Apple chips on the M2 can power the new iPad and MacBook
- MagSafe can be upgraded to iPad Pro
The latest by Mark Gurman, of Bloomberg, says Apple is preparing the M2 chip to prepare for the new iPad Pro and MacBook later this year. This coincides with Apple still having two different events each fall: one for iPhone and one for Mac.
Apple’s M2 chip is more efficient and powerful
There is still no concrete data on the upcoming M2 Chip, but it is expected to have a better battery life than the M1 chip, due to the new 4nm process. The GPU would also have extra helmets, while the CPU could stay on eight cores, with different speeds. Apple always shows the computing power of its chips and can really use these new numbers to be proud of.

Another claim is the return of MagSafe upgrades, especially the iPad Pro. It is unclear how they will add the iPad Pro considering it currently uses a USB Type-C port and a Apple Pencil magnetic connector and other accessories.
The iPad Pro 2022 can come with a new version of iOS and different dimensions similar to the previous model. In addition to these powerful tablets, Apple may also release new MacBook Pros and Mac minis for the fall event. The M2 chip is the potential candidate for these new devices.
