iPhone, a safe bet
At the end of the report, SellCell explained that the iPhone 13 remains the champion when it comes to retention, but didn’t say why its rivals have dropped in price. Nonetheless, one can imagine that the doubling of different ranges and release dates for Android phones will only lead to a rapid obsolescence of smartphones that one might think is unsurpassable at launch.
As a result, more and more people are starting to resell their phones, and the law of supply and demand will only reduce the cost of smartphones flooding into resale platforms. If Apple releases iPhones every three months, the resale value of each model will also drop faster. That’s why Apple doesn’t.
With an operating system that Apple still controls and the annual release of the most advanced iPhone, the Cupertino company won’t invite its smartphone to resell months after its release.
Do you think the price reduction of Android models is a good thing or a bad thing? Have you ever tried to resell your smartphone? Do you systematically wait months before buying a smartphone, betting on a possible price drop?
