Omega Rugal recently joined The King of Fighters XV via a free update. Of course, it’s not uncommon for new characters in fighting games to have some balance issues and bugs that need to be addressed in future patches.
Patch 1.21 is exactly the patch for Omega Rugal in The King of Fighters XV. Patch 1.21 has been released for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Steam, and the Epic Games Store, according to SNK. Those who own the Xbox Series X/S and Windows 10 versions of The King of Fighters 15 will have to wait even longer until a patch becomes available.
Almost as soon as Omega Rugal appeared in The King of Fighters XV, something was wrong about the character. Some of these bugs range from giving Omega Rugal an unexpected advantage to completely ruining the game.
In previous versions of The King of Fighters XV, Omega Rugal was able to assemble his Climax Super Special from his projectiles from anywhere on the screen. This seems odd, since Omega Rugal’s Climax Super Special isn’t an attack that usually hits opponents in full screen.
SNK also fixed an issue where the game could crash when joining a lobby in the Steam version. Also noticed that an issue where characters would sometimes start a round in the wrong position has been fixed.

• Game Crash – Resolved an issue that could cause the game to crash when joining a lobby from the link invite or friends menu in the Steam version.
• Start Round Position – Resolved an issue where characters would start their round in an unexpected position under certain circumstances.
• Shatter Strike – Increases total recovery frames by 3. (Because the number of unfavorable frames is significantly less than the normal number of frames)
• Huge pressure – shortens the cancellation window to the second hit of CLIMAX’s super nirvana. (This is to solve the problem that the opponent cannot move after canceling the CLIMAX super nirvana within a certain period of time.)
• Terrible lethal wave
– Resolved an issue where if an opponent was hit by a projectile while this CLIMAX Super Nirvana was active, the CLIMAX Super Nirvana would land regardless of their distance.
– Resolved an issue that would cause the opponent’s neck to deviate during zoomed in cutscenes.
