As such, Elden Ring, the big video game of the first few months of 2022, has seen its demeaning treatment this year in the form of cute-looking PlayStation games (as reported by our friends at Push Square). But that’s just the trailer. Someone bravely gave a playable makeover to FromSoftware’s absolute masterpiece — but not on the hardware you’d expect.
On Reddit, user -shin- shared a project they are currently working on – a fully playable demake of Game Boy Elden Ring. Created using GB Studio 3.0, they plan to complete the end of the Limgrave area by at least the end of May. We can’t imagine them recreating the entire game (did you? seen How big is the Elden Ring), but would that be impressive?
-shin- Writes almost everything, from dodge scrolling to “you’re dead” text on the screen. This is an extremely faithful reproduction of the beginning of the game. And -shin- confirms that this demake will be playable on the original hardware. Well, it’s time to die over and over again on old grey bricks.
This isn’t the first FromSoftware game to receive demake processing either. Bloodborne – you know, another great critically acclaimed action RPG – also has a PS1 demake called Bloodborne PSX Promotional fields are also covered. But, more amazingly, the same developers created Bloodborne Karts. True.
There are plans to release a demo at the end of May, but to keep up with it, you can follow -shin-‘s Twitch channel or check out their YouTube.
