It’s not long for players of Gearbox’s new loot shooter Little Tina’s Wonderland Determine the “best gun”. About a week after launch, fans opted for liquid cooling, a legendary pistol that can technically fire forever without reloading, as long as you can reliably land a critical hit. That, combined with its amazing damage output, puts it way ahead of other weapons in its tier. Then the gearbox undercuts it.
Liquid cooling is still a very effective gun. (Any gun that fires forever is pretty good.) But it’s no longer the boss melting machine it used to be, with some players reporting damage reductions of up to two-thirds. It all begs the question: what is it? Little Tina’s Wonderland is a cooperative game. Why make fun weapons less fun?
“Although it’s not PvP, we want to make sure that the harder you work on making the game, [the harder it] To serve you, we want to preserve the choice between multiple weapons,” Creative Director Matt Cox wonderlandTell small house in a recent video interview. “So when we figured out that some weapons could get a little out of hand, we wanted to make sure we had control over it so that it became feasible to choose between a variety of different playstyles.”
picture Borderlandsthe booty series it derived, Little Tina’s Wonderland Has settings that allow you to significantly increase the difficulty level. By running the roguelite endgame mode Chaos Chamber, you can unlock different levels of “chaos,” each of which increases enemy health and damage output in exchange for an increased chance of finding top-tier loot.
Once upon a time, liquid cooling broke through those higher layers like butter. As with other Legendary pistols, such as the Queen’s Cry and the Seiko Bow, they were significantly weakened in the same update on Coolant Cooldown.

as part of yesterday’s big event wonderland In the patch, Gearbox adds 15 unlockable layers of Chaos, up to a maximum of 35. No weapons get any changes, but the update does improve the efficacy of the already powerful AF Claw class.
According to Cox, it’s partly about the pursuit of the north star of balance, of course, but mostly to make sure players make the most of the tools at their disposal. wonderland is the first game in the series to feature six classes at launch and allow for mixing and matching between the two classes. It removed grenades in favor of spells, and according to Cox, players used more spells than grenades. (Grenades are limited by ammo, while spells that function similarly are associated with short cooldowns.) He also said that players tend to use melee attacks more than in previous games. (wonderland Introducing an equippable melee weapon for the first time in the series. )Have Ton Ways to fine-tune classes for maximum damage, many of which are more fun than the age-old strategy of finding the best gun in the game and using it at the expense of everything else.
“Player choice is always something we want people to have,” Cox said. “Like, they actually have to choose between some different guns and weapons and game types and spell types.”
Of course, there’s an argument that if a gun — or a spell, or anything, really — gets absurdly, ridiculously overpowered, you can…not use it.If there was some kind of direct competitive PvP out there, you’d probably hear a lot less from that school wonderland. Previous Borderlands For example, the game has a feature where you can duel with members of a cooperative party. Sure, it’s fun, but it’s also an effective way to settle disputes over who can walk away with the spoils.it’s completely absent Little Tina’s Wonderland.
When asked why duels weren’t part of the game and whether it would be in a future update, Cox objected.
“We have a certain amount of time to focus on certain things,” Cox said. “So we want to focus all our resources on what we know is going to make, you know, wonderland very different from a Borderlands experience and make sure we achieve these. “
