Streaming video giant Netflix recently shocked the entertainment industry by reporting that it lost 200,000 subscribers in the first quarter of 2022.The company had previously expected Increase There were 2.5 million subscribers during this period.
Why are so many users leaving Netflix? The reduction in restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic is a big reason—people who were previously limited to watching streaming video at home now have more options for entertainment, such as dining out, attending a concert, or watching a movie in a movie theater.
Inflation isn’t helping Netflix either. The high cost of food and gas has households cutting other spending, and Netflix’s price hikes in early 2022 could draw attention to its potential budget cuts.
In its first-quarter 2022 shareholder letter, the company cited the Ukraine war as a major factor in the loss of users. Netflix argues that suspending its service in Russia has resulted in a net loss of 700,000 subscribers worldwide.

How to cancel a Netflix subscription on your phone or tablet
It’s easy to cancel your subscription on your computer (see next section). Netflix makes it difficult to cancel your subscription on your phone and tablet, but there is a way to do so, although you won’t be using any of the official Netflix apps on the App Store or Play Store. Instead, you’ll need to cancel your Netflix account using the web browser of your choice:
1. go Netflix.com on your web browser and log into your account. If you are redirected to the app, visit the Netflix website in a private browser to prevent the redirect from happening.
2. Click three-dash menu Open the side menu in the upper left corner.
3. hit now account.
4. Scroll down and click Cancellation of membership, which you can find under Membership and Billing. The next page will notify you that your cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing period.
5. To cancel your Netflix subscription, tap the blue complete cancellation button.

It’s much simpler to cancel your Netflix subscription on your computer. To get started, just open your favorite web browser and follow these steps:
1. go Netflix.comlog into your account, and then Choose a user. Do not use child accounts or you will lose access to your account settings.
2. Next, hover over the user icon in the upper right corner and click account.
3. beat Cancellation of membership button.
4. Finally, click on the blue complete cancellation button.
