After announcing the next real expansion, Dragonflight, Blizzard also invited fans to rediscover the icy realm of Northrend, home to the evil Lich King Arthas Menethil, determined to take over Azeroth. This classic version will offer many features designed for experts and novices, starting with the Death Knight class for both factions starting at level 55, and the new Calligrapher class. Traits of spells and techniques, as well as crafting powerful jewelry and off-hand items.
Players can also create death knights in content updates prior to the release of Wrath of the Lich King Classic. There are no prerequisites or restrictions on the creation of the first death knight, but a character of at least level 55 is required to create additional death knights. Players who don’t yet have their characters ready for expansion will be able to take advantage of the optional sesame at level 70 closer to the release of this classic.
In the name of the first World of Warcraft classic, achievements will also return to reward budding adventurers for their exploits, and we won’t be escaping the dungeons and raids that have become hallmarks of expansions such as Azjol-Nerub and Purging Stratholme Playable with 5 players, or Naxxramas Raids in 10 player Raids, an update to the 40 player version prior to the expansion’s release.
