While leaks over the past few months have shown this, Activision officially announced on Thursday that Godzilla and King Kong will be heading to Call of Duty: Warzone. Specifically, it is related to Godzilla vs King Kongwhich is a bit unusual considering the movie was released over a year ago, but the announcement trailer has enough high-end CG to make it easy to forget.
We know very little about how the crossover called Operation Monarch will work. The trailer shows the two beasts fighting each other, suggesting we might see a storyline similar to the movie, rather than a free-to-play melee that happens to feature the characters.
in a conquered world Fortnite and my worldcrossovers may no longer be what they once were, but given Activision’s tendency to stray from Call of Duty’s rooted roots, there seems to be a lot of potential to make it feel as much a movie as a game.
According to the trailer, the “battle begins” on May 11.
