As Motorola continues to flesh out its vastly expanded portfolio, we can expect another new model with no previous iteration, the Moto G82 5G, to arrive soon. Although there are several devices up and down the Moto G lineup, there is no Moto G8x like the G70/G71 or G100/G200.
Currently known internally by the codename Rhode 5G+, the G82 is just one of several Rhode derivatives this year, one of which – the Rhode 4G – we recently saw launched as the Moto G52. It’s time for a high-end mid-range product, with a 6.55-inch screen powered by Android 12, with a pOLED display (FHD+, 402PPI, 120Hz refresh rate) that covers nearly 88% of the device’s face.
Equipped with Qualcomm’s octa-core Snapdragon 695 5G (a pair of 2.2GHz cores and six 1.7GHz cores), the Moto G82 will be available in three memory configurations, all with 128GB of internal storage, and 4GB, 6GB or 8GB of LPDDR4x memory. It comes with a 5000mAh battery, 33W wired QuickCharge, power button embedded fingerprint sensor and IP52 rating.
Meanwhile, its imaging prowess is made possible by an optically stabilized 50-megapixel main camera, an 8MP combined wide-angle and depth-of-field camera, a 2MP macro shooter, and a front-facing 16MP selfie webcam. Finally, in recognition of their continued popularity on mid-range devices, they are designed to support a standard 3.5mm headphone jack slot.
