summarize
Time-lapse mode is a well-known recording feature built into the camera app of Galaxy smartphones by default. It lets you create time-lapse videos at different frame rates. Depending on the smartphone, you get a variety of speed options, with the highest setting for Hyperlapse videos of the stars.
Compatible Galaxy smartphones
The ability to shoot Hyperlapse video with a star trail effect is one of the key new features of the Galaxy S23 series. It can be accessed by setting the frame rate to 300x. It is unclear whether the feature will be added to older smartphones through a future software update. Below is a list of Samsung smartphones compatible with the Hyperlapse Star Trails feature:

How to shoot time-lapse videos with star trails on the Galaxy S23
To take steady footage with the Galaxy S23, all you need is a tripod. Samsung recommends shooting in places with few artificial light sources, such as street lights or buildings, to avoid urban light pollution. Since the photo module may need to run for several minutes or even an hour, it is very important that the installation is stable.
While we haven’t tested this feature in a suitable environment, we captured an impressive sample from a Berlin balcony using a compact Rollei travel tripod.
