Some Xiaomi smartphones like the Mi 12 Pro, Mi 11T Pro, Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G and even the Poco F4 GT accept the manufacturer’s 120W wired fast charge. This fast charging technology called Xiaomi HyperCharge 120W is not always enabled by default in MIUI. I tell you how to do it.
Xiaomi’s 120W fast charging is still only available on a handful of smartphones. But without it, I’ve already had a lot of trouble, as I pointed out in my review of the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G. Charge your smartphone from 0% to 100% in 25 minutes to break everything, a real luxury in terms of comfort of use.
However, to benefit from this Xiaomi proprietary technology, you must activate it through MIUI 13’s battery utility:
- go to set up then in the battery
- In the battery utility, swipe left to reveal the tabs Battery
- press Increase charging speed
- activation option Increase charging speed

Logically, you will only benefit from 120W fast charging if your Xiaomi smartphone is compatible. You can also disable this option to protect the battery if you wish. It is for this reason that Xiaomi has implemented this feature.
In the battery utility settings, the manufacturer makes it clear that “MIUI prioritizes charging speed while keeping your device safe. The weaker the battery, the faster the charging speed. This feature may make your device warm.”
Of course, that’s why you also have an alarm feature that lets you know when 120-watt charging is active and charging speeds are increasing.
This tutorial explains how to activate 120W fast charging on Xiaomi smartphones. Do you know this MIUI trick? Do you want to activate this option, or the other way around, deactivate it so as not to damage the battery?
