On your Xiaomi smartphone, a somewhat hidden feature of MIUI 13 allows you to apply a watermark or “watermark” to your photos before posting or sharing them. This MIUI trick is very useful to prevent the photos you take with your Xiaomi smartphone from being copied or stolen without your consent.
This feature of MIUI, called Protected Watermark, allows you to sign your photos with a personalized message. So I’m not talking about some commercial watermark that manufacturers apply to your photos by default, like “taken with *insert brand name*”.
- In your gallery, click the three-dot menu on the photo of your choice
- In the pop-up menu, click Secure Watermark
- Write down a message of your choice (up to 14 characters)

I might also be interested in this feature if you send sensitive files or scan them. For the less serious, the meme potential of this trick from Xiaomi is undeniable.
What do you think of this MIUI feature? Have you tested it on your Xiaomi smartphone? Do you find it useful?
