Dragged down by COVID-19, which has severely impacted pinball/pachinko and tourist activities, not to mention brutal sales in its historic arcades, Sega Sammy is returning to color. First, the pinball machine/pachislot is back on track (operating profit 70 million euros), while losses in the tourism industry have nearly halved (18.6 million euros). But most importantly, the group attributes such a strong balance sheet to its excellent video game format, with an operating profit of 253 million euros, a nice increase from 208 million euros a year earlier.

Between April 2021 and March 2022, Sega special releases Humankind, Lost Judgment, Sonic Colors Ultimate, Super Monkey Ball: Banana Mania, Shin Megami Tensei V, Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, Football Manager 2022 and Total War: Warhammer III Allows it to distribute 27.2 million games on consoles and PCs.
But Sega is thinking bigger this year, planning to release 34.2 million games, thanks to an increase in the number of games, knowing that growth will be driven mostly by the West.
